Words would not be enough to try and describe northern Cyprus. One of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean.

When people decide to move to a foreign country (mainly from the UK) there are many points that need to be thought about.

Language is very important- the Turkish Cypriot is Turkish speaking, but since the island was under British rule for nearly 100 years many speak English.

Property-this is as much cheaper than any where in the UK- and you get a great deal more for your money. Apartments start any where between £35,000 up to £100,000.
Villas can be as cheap as £80,000 and reach up to £1,000,000. Nearly all would have a pool or a shared pool if in a small complex.
For those who have children there are very good English speaking schools (private) as the local schools are quite good with English taught in them.

Culture- northern Cyprus is a Muslim society, but do not follow the Koran to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Irak etc.
Girls are not covered and are very modern in the dress code, alcohol and cigarettes are freely available (and very cheap).
 
Weather- it has a wonderful climate.
Jan-Feb-March can be fairly wet.
April-May temperatures as a UK summers day
June-July-August very high temperatures but most homes and vehicles are air-conditioned.
Sept-Oct again like a spring day
Nov-Dec can be rather wet.
The above makes you feel healthy and of course with such weather you eat much more healthily.
Surprisingly with these high summer temperatures the north of the island is very green, with an abundance of flavour all year round.

The Cypriots drive on the left as in the UK which is an added bonus and over the past 5 years we have built super roads so going from A to B is a pleasure.

There are many wonderful sights such as St.Hilaria castle, Othello’s tower and of course Kyrenia harbour which is properly one the most beautiful in the world. These are only a few of one wonders to be seen.

The Turkish Cypriots themselves are delightful. They are rival and caring race and really like people from the UK very much- always give you a helping hand should you be in need of it.
